    The Baby

    Wednesday, April 25, 2007, 08:05 AM [General]

Merry Meet Everyone, today I'm just plain silly, So thought I'd throw this one out there. I know I know, it's about the Baby Jesus. but a poet writesabout many many things true, not true, and even imagined. This is silly, just like me today. I hope you enjoy it. Blessings All.

    The Baby

    Looking in the manger

T'was a babe lay in the hay

    Don't those folks know nothing

To treat a kid that way

    He was wrapped in rags

    And couldn't move

    A finger or a toe

They need not worry all that much

    Cause where's he gonna go

    There were shepards

    And some angels

And three guys they called wise men

But lookin' at their poopy shoes

    What's they been stepping in

But they really couldn't help it

Cause Joe let in the sheep

And cows, a camel and a ass

There was barely room to sleep

The baby didn't seem to mind

    He didn't make a sound

Even though that big bright star

Lit up the whole darn town

Now i am just a poor boy

I've seen babies come and grow

They act like he's a God or more

    Born of Mar and Joe

He is a little cute though

They're right to be so keen

    For he's the sweetest baby

This child of eight has seen

So maybe when he grows up

    What they say is true

That savior they been looking for

Was born this night for you

    Apheresis

    Tuesday, April 24, 2007, 08:31 AM [General]

Apheresis, wow what a word, but it's a word for something that can help others. It's a process of collecting platelets from whole blood and retrurning the rest back to the donors body. NO HARM , we make those platelets back within three days. Platelets are used mostly for cancer patients and burn victums. This is something I did for years and years. It was something I could do, to help others. So when our local Red Cross had it's annual banquet, I wrote this poem for them and it appeard on their program. I thought I'd share it with you as I have shared my platelets with others. Blessings my friends.

    Rendezvous

    Every other week or two

    I keep a special rendezvous

And spend some time in a chair

Because I have something good to share

A stick and sting the nurse will say

    In a warm reasuring way

    But I don't mind,  it doesn't hurt

Sometimes you get a great T-shirt

We have something we can give

So maybe someone else can live

A life much better than before

Straight from the heart that's for sure

We sit and chat or watch a show

And we'll have snacks before we go

Come with me don't be a moaner

    Be an apheresis platelet donor

    A Poem Born

    Saturday, April 21, 2007, 07:37 AM [General]

    A Poem Born

To sit and wait for words to come

So soft and sweet slip off my tongue

My lips are still my pen must ply

The words that mute me though I try

Spill to page oh stiffled verse

Tout me not lest make it worse

To pen such thoughts that voice did shun

Make thought and deed speak as one

Laden now my pen well primed

Poised to scribe upon the line

Heart to hand and hand to pen

Pen to page I now begin

    Makay

There is no sweeter poem than one written for a friend

    Bless you all

    Bird Watcher

    Thursday, April 19, 2007, 07:27 AM [General]

    Bird Watcher

One morning at daybreak I stepped out on my deck

And a mocking birds song my ears soon detect

From a lofty tree limb some where in the air

I could hear but not see him, at least not from there

The sun soon was creeping up over the hill

And I listened intently to that mockingbirds' trill

Still in my gown my coffee in tow

I climbed up on the railing leaning out as I go

I was leaning way out craning my neck

And what happened next is what you'd expect

Over the railing, clawing at air

My gown o're my head, showing my derriere

Down in the flower bed, rolling out on the ground

Stunned for a moment I now look around

The grass clippings clung  from a dew laden lawn

To every spot my gown wasn't on

Up on my feet picking grass off my tush

That mocking bird flew down perched in a near bush

I know he was laughing I could tell by his call

I knew that the mocking bird saw my great fall

Down from the railing soft laughter is heard

But my dutiful husband never uttered a word

Regaining composure nothing hurt but my pride

I picked up my coffee cup and went back inside
