    The First Bouquet

    Tuesday, April 1, 2008, 07:03 PM [General]

Every year I just can't wait

    Till spring time comes again

To see green shoots and flowers

    Where fallen leaves have been

With Spring rains and warm sunshine

    Up from neath the soil

    Comes flowers in all colors

    Mother Natures toil

    Like a little pixie

I go from row to row

    Picking all the prettiest

Put in a vase for show

    The fragrance and the beauty

    Theres nothing more to say

I've waited through long winter months

    For this first bouquet

    )O(

    Blessings All

    Magick in the Air

    Hello Dearies,

    New Poem.....

    The Four Sisters Clean House

Come sisters help me to clean my house

Each nook and cranny, let us arouse

The lingering spirits and bit them adieu

Come to my aid sisters as I'd come for you

Four winds of the Quarters we do impart

Ask your assistance with all of our heart

Dragons Blood, cedar, pine and sweet grass

White sage and drum song, woes leave as we pass

Smolder O' smoke smudge all away

This negative energy that holds time at bay

Out through the windows and into the All

Leave us forever, we bear not your pall

In and out each room we work

Each with a duty that none would shirk

We thanked the Goddess for the love that she sends

Upon  completion this house now is cleansed

    by Makay

For Wind, Nicole, Maefinella and me

With the help of the Goddess

    So mote it be

    Hope you liked it.

We had the pleasure of a serenade one afteroon , till a string broke, but like all good musicans there was an extra set of strings in the case.

Last week we got some nine inches of rain. It was a lot of water in a short time, it rained for almost three days and nights. Several folks down river were flooded. We ourselves aren't in danger of flood, but the creek by the trailer roars with swollen waters. It makes for good photos.

Sister Jo and I painted and decorated eggs, while the boys watched basket ball we did our crafts out in the sunshine filled open air deck. I hid some Eggs for Jo to find. Oh they were all blown eggs. We had a great time.

I'm going to have midsummers eve Litha here. It will be my dedication. I start my studies the 3rd of April. And then we have the Spring Luncheon May 2 and 3rd for the Poets Roundtable of Arkansas. Will keep you posted on those festivities.

    Take care my Dearies,

    Brightest Blessings

    And still she blooms

    Wednesday, March 12, 2008, 09:57 AM [General]

    Morning Dearies,

It's a short blog, well the weather dumped several more inches of snow on us, but it was short lived and melted off in a day or two. It was a lovely snow wonderful for snowballs.

Then as sweetly as can be the sun came out and we had high 60's low 70's. and Bill's Christmas rose finally got to bloom out.

It was worth the wait, I think.

Take care dearies. Much love to you

What a difference a day or two makes!

    Tuesday, March 4, 2008, 08:42 PM [General]

Just when you think Spring has sprung... Mother Nature fools you once more.

We have had some of the nicest days lately, with our temps in the 70's. Which prompts flower bed attention. I'm really not allowed to rake, but it is so hard not to at least attempt to move a few leaves. Bill has me using a small rake with 9 tines, his thought, I would be less likely to over do and hurt my back. It's true you can't move much with 9 tines but I still manage to get some done, I can rake a bit sitting down and not bend over. I noticed the may apples were peeping up through the ground, and all the daffodils have buds. And one new thing is going to bloom soon, Bill's Christmas Rose(helborus).

One of the ladies in the Master Gardeners Club gave it to him two or three years ago. This is it's first bloom and it seems to be real slow about opening up. So we have been checking it every day.

    Mother Natures Joke.

And now the Christmas Rose is under 5 1/2 inches of snow. I hope the blooms survive, I'll show them to you when and if we thaw out again.

    Blessings Dearies

    Little Rock Trip

    Saturday, March 1, 2008, 07:44 PM [General]

    Hello Dearies,

It's blog time again. This time it's a trip to Little Rock. We rode down to attend the Flower Show at the State Convention Center. Well we paid our $39 bucks for the bus ride. We had other plans too. So we loaded at 7am with ice on most things except the road and headed South. We arrived around 10 ish and with strict orders to be back at the loading ramp by 4pm or we would walk HOME!

We had plans to visit the Clinton Library and then come back to the flower show. We didn't belong to the Glad Garden Flower Club that chartered the bus, but I was real good friends with the organizer of the trip and she wanted to fill the bus so all could go and she would have sold tickets to monkeys to achieve this. So we caught the next trolly and rode it to the library for a quarter. What a bargin, the man driving was of spanish decent and was a wonderful tour guide. But he knew everything about every building on our route. We crossed the Arkansas River enroute and saw the Arkansas Queen, a very lovely paddle wheel river boat, and a neat WW2 submarine. It was fun ride and the clang clang clang of the trolly almost made me want to get up and do a Judy Garland impression. We soon reached our stop and the conductor said be back here by 5:15 or you will walk back, That seems to be the thought for the day. We said we would be back way before the last trolly time. So we walked the rest of the way to the library about a block. It was chilly but not freezing.

One of the rooms of the library had a complete miniture white house in it. It had every room and gardens with flowers and dining room every thing, this would have made some little girls day to have this as a doll house. WOW!

This was a great attraction for the kids but the grown ups liked it too.!!

The library has three floors and well we didn't have time to check it all out , we sorta skimmed over all we could. It's a very modern building and you can see outisde almost everywhere. We saw the Oval Office and a very nice guard took our picture. My sister said all that's missing is Bill and the guard said my name is Bill. We all laughed (his name tag said his name was Ralph). Go figure

There were many things to photograph but you could not use a flash and it was a ver cloudy day so I couldn't get as many as I would have liked.

Well we caught our trolly back to the Convention Center and went to the flower show actually the part we went to was the lawn and garden show. The flower stuff was up stairs and they had lectures and demos and lots of flower arangements. They have a little booth for Arkansas books and I got Bill a copy of Arkansas Wild Flowers. Last time we went I got him The Buffalo River Handbook. Jo and I picked up some shea butter and some soap too. No plants tho. but we did see the biggest crystal I ever saw they had it displayed as a fountain with the water trickling down over the crystal into the small pond below. You can always get great ideas from these shows. This was a rock garden display that didn't win a thing and I thought it took alot of thought to place each rock and the different mosses and ferns about into an attractive art piece. The space is about four by three.

We walked around a bit and before long it was time to load the bus, and believe me we weren't walking home. We were on time. We left promptly at 4:01pm for home. We usually get to stop at Cracker Barrel but this time the ladies voted to go to Ryans, damn no gift shop this time.

Well we had a great time and by the time the bus pulled into the depot we were ready to crash.(play on words there) Thanks for taking my tour. We'll go again next year.

    In Love and Light

    as Always Makay
