    Fairies

    Friday, March 30, 2007, 07:21 PM [General]

The fairies come to the garden

and sit in the frond of a fern

They lay back when they wanna

    Amongst flora and fauna

Let worry not be their concern

They'll doze for a bit in the shadows

Play tag midst willow and weed

    Regrets of the day

    Give them no dismay

As they ponder a frolicking deed

They grace my garden at twilight

As the day fades away into night

    They giggle and hide

    When I come outside

Can't see them try as I might

    Now  fairies are fine

But can get out of line

Make messes all round the house

I leave colorful silk and a saucer of milk

And they are  as meek as a mouse

    Bless the Fairies

    The Crone of Collin County

    Friday, March 30, 2007, 07:07 PM [General]

In the middle of the night

If you wish a gruesome sight

Come with me and we just might

See the Crone of Collin County

    O're her cauldron, softly chanting

Adding bits of this and that

Eye of toad and tail of serpant

A drop of blood from wing of bat

    Stirring ever oh so slowly

Jusst a simmer not a boil

    Form her native County Collin

She adds two handfuls of the soil

    Now  her chanting is increasing

We turn away but not in time

She pours the cauldron o're her body

Head to toe incased in slime

There we saw the grusome sight

    Standing the pale moonlight

    Arms outstretched into the night

    The Crone of Collin County

And then a thing I know not what

Pulled the crone into the pot

A light so bright we could not see

    She then emerged so gracefully

There she stood in the night

    Pretty and young smiling bright

First our eyes we thought deceived

But  what we saw must be believed

    Now on pretty sunny days

A lovely lass walks these ways

They say shes looking for a beau

She might not be the one you know

So if you sit and chat awhile

And by her smile you are beguiled

Before you go you might ask

If she's a Collin County lass

    It's Lost

    Sunday, March 25, 2007, 06:46 AM [General]

    Where did I put it

    It's no where in sight

    I've looked all the places

    My mind's quite a fright

    I searched and I've cursed

    I've pondered and prayed

    But it's whereabouts

    Can not be displayed

    I've come to conclusions

    That it can't be found

    So I'll get another

    When I go to town

    And when I return

    With my item suppose

    I'll find mine at home

     Right under my nose

    Keeper Of My Dreams

    Sunday, March 25, 2007, 06:37 AM [General]

At the end of every day

    After bath and prayers

Tucked in tight through the night

    With dolls and teddy bears

    Never do I grumble

When bed time comes it seems

    I'm always looking forward

To see the keeper of my dreams

He sits right on my pillow

And as I drift to sleep

He waves his arms and whispers

Of the dreams he has to keep

    We go then to dreamland

    Floating on a mist

Counting stars as they go by

    To moonbeams blow a kiss

    We go so many places

With lots of friends we play

I always have so much fun

And wish that I could stay

But the keeper of my dreams

Says this is not a plight

He'll keep all my dreams for me

    Till we meet tomorrow night

    The Gumball Machine

    Monday, March 19, 2007, 08:15 AM [General]

While standing in line at the market

The young man in front of me

Was there with his little daughter

Her years on this earth around three

She said "Daddy can I have a quarter?"

He smiled and relinquished the sun

She ran to the machine ever intent

Her eye on the prize not the gum

The young man paid for his groceries

But before the sacker was done

His daugher was back face all aglow

Hand grasping the prize that she'd won

"Oh Daddy, Daddy I got a ring

But I cn'at get it out of it's box!"

The young man knelt down and opened it up

Then patted her soft golden locks

The child was excited the ring on her hand

Her exuberance was hard to contain

    "Daddy, it's beautiful, a diamond I think.'

    Our smiles found no restrain

Our life is like a gumball machine

And once in a while a surprize

Most often we get gum after gum

But our eye always looks to the prize
